Sound Immersion
w/ Joseph Yiannakou
Meditative Listening Experiences
Combining gong, crystal and Himalayan singing bowls, therapeutic percussion, field recordings and voice, Joseph’s Sound Immersion experiences bring together rich sonic textures, deep relaxation and the art of listening.
Having trained at the BRIT School of Performing & Creative Arts and the British Academy of Sound Therapy, his approach bridges the science of sound, therapeutic practice and creative exploration. He invites audiences to experience sound not only as a pathway into meditation, but as a means of opening up space for reflection, imagination and discovery — allowing new perspectives, unexpected connections and insights to emerge.
The layering of sustained tones, harmonics, rhythm and subtle vibrations creates an evolving landscape of sound. The experience can quieten the mind, open up the imagination or draw attention to the more subtle ways we perceive and respond to our inner and outer worlds. Guided meditation and elements of Yoga Nidra provide a gentle framework, helping participants move away from the pace of everyday life towards a more restful, contemplative state.
Every experience is different. You might notice physical sensations, emotions, images or memories, or simply enjoy the opportunity to switch off and unwind. There is no right or wrong way to experience sound — only the invitation to listen and see what unfolds.
Whether you’re new to meditation or an experienced practitioner, Sound Immersion offers an opportunity to slow down, explore the imagination and experience sound in a different way.
